Glimmer Camp Emergency Preparedness Day Camp

About this event

A Day Camp focused on emergency preparedness for our LGTBQ2S+ community members.

Join Glimmer Camp and partners: Oregon Emergency Management, Upstream Access, TransPonder, and OSU Master Food Preservers, for a hands-on and interactive program.

You will get hands-on demonstrations of tools and methods for cooking, water purification, food preservation, and good hygiene when the power goes out.

You will also get an overview of the Be 2 Weeks Ready and Person-Centered Emergency Preparadness Plans and leave with toolkits for both.

We'll discuss what barriers folks face to preparing for disasters and we'll sample some backpacking meals, generously donated by Farm to Summer, which can make a great shelf stable food option for a variety of dietary needs.

This day camp is great for folks who are not sure where to start with their emergency planning.

Registration includes a sandwich bar lunch, please indicate your dietary restrictions during registration.
