Powerhouse saxophonist Adam Harris returns to the Jazz Station, where he recorded his debut album, this time with a brand-new rhythm section led by acclaimed pianist David Morgenroth. Expect fiery, inventive playing from musicians who have shared stages with some of the biggest names in jazz.

Adam Harris is an Oregon-based saxophonist, composer and educator who has become one of the Pacific Northwest’s strongest jazz voices. He trained at Cornish College of the Arts with legends like Julian Priester, then earned his master’s at the New England Conservatory under Donny McCaslin, Miguel Zenón, George Garzone and Billy Hart. His debut album, The Adam Harris Quintet – Live at the Jazz Station (2014), features celebrated pianist George Colligan. A dedicated educator, Adam directed jazz studies at Western Oregon University and now teaches at Ashland High School. He performs regularly up and down the West Coast and has shared the stage with Wynton Marsalis, Dave Holland, Randy Brecker and Joshua Redman.

David Morgenroth is a Montana-born pianist equally at home in classical, jazz and popular music. He earned the University of North Texas’s first-ever doctorate in jazz performance and studied with Fred Hersch, among others. He has performed on four continents alongside luminaries including Michael Brecker, Freddie Hubbard, Benny Golson, Lionel Hampton and Toots Thielemans. His four albums as a leader feature collaborators such as Chris Potter and Joe LaBarbera, and Jazz News has praised his playing for its intelligence, originality and shimmering elegance. He now calls Eugene home.
