- ➤ The Autzen Canoe Canal Footbridge linking Autzen Stadium and Prefontaine's Trail will close Feb. 16 until late March for resurfacing as part of University of Oregon athletic facility upgrades + detours and alternate parking at Alton Baker Park or the Science Center are provided. KLCC
- ➤ Greenhill Humane Society rescued 21 cats from a Marcola property on Friday after their owner died; the team and Lane County Animal Services treated the cats (which suffered from malnutrition, respiratory infections, fleas and parasites) so they can later be adopted. KLCC
CRIME NEWS
- ➤ City officials report that Santa Clara Park in Eugene was vandalized with stolen bike racks, fires on benches, damaged playground equipment, and missing signage, and they are assessing the damage while increasing patrols to prevent further incidents. KEZI
CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ The Midtown Center for the Arts (on 16th) is showcasing Street Scenes: Two Perspectives, a photography exhibit featuring Richard Hassett’s Eugene views and Doremus Scudder’s European scenes. The exhibit invites visitors to explore everyday moments captured through distinct artistic lenses. KLCC

- ➤ University of Oregon student leaders and faculty called on the university and lawmakers to expand open textbook programs and reveal material costs at a press conference Tuesday in Eugene + they warned that rising prices contribute to basic needs challenges for students. KVAL
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ PeaceHealth will end its 35-year contract with Eugene Emergency Physicians and hire ApolloMD to staff emergency departments in Springfield, Florence, and Cottage Grove after June 30 — all 41 providers signed a 90-day agreement to refuse work for ApolloMD amid rising RiverBend wait times. KLCC
