- ➤ A new community complex near 58th and Main in Thurston will open Saturday at noon with a ribbon-cutting by Springfield’s mayor and local businesses like TrackTown Pizza providing late-night youth hangouts and raffles until 4:30 p.m. (The center also focuses on mental health support.) KEZI

- ➤ Historic Mims House is being restored as part of a community project to honor one of Eugene's first Black families, with Willie and Sally Mims leading efforts that began in 2024 and now plan eco-friendly upgrades and community events pending additional funding (foundation repairs are a priority). GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Eugene officials will soon adopt recommendations from a technical advisory group to create thousands of jobs and add $25M in tax revenue over 10 years, aiming to ease the long-running budget gap. The report calls for a regionwide partnership and smarter financial planning. KVAL
- ➤ Rural Oregon communities received about $49 million in retroactive forest payments from the federal government to support schools, public safety & wildfire preparedness, a lifeline described by Senator Jeff Merkley. Additional funding from the Bureau of Land Management is expected later. KVAL
- ➤ Oregon representatives asked ApolloMD on Tuesday for documents showing compliance with Senate Bill 951 after PeaceHealth announced that ApolloMD will manage RiverBend Emergency Department services in Eugene, with Lane Emergency Physicians LLC providing clinical care; the company is reviewing the request.
