- ➤ Lane County deputies arrested two suspects after stopping a silver Mercedes going the wrong way on I-5 near Glenwood Boulevard in Eugene at around 3:30 a.m. Sunday, March 16th—deputies found over 100 grams of methamphetamine with the driver and a lesser amount with the passenger, both of whom had outstanding warrants. EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Today, the Eugene 4J School District announced it has selected a finalist for superintendent and will begin confidential contract negotiations soon—keeping details under wraps for now. The board will vote on final contract terms at an upcoming open session—leading to a new superintendent set to start on July 1. NBC 16

- ➤ On March 17, the City of Springfield swore in Jami Resch as interim police chief at the Springfield Justice Center—she takes over from Andrew Shearer, who resigned earlier to spend more time with his family. Resch, the department’s first female chief, brings 26 years of law enforcement experience from her previous role as deputy police chief and work with the Portland Police Bureau. KEZI
