- ➤ A head-on crash on Monday morning near the entrance to Cascade Middle School on Barger in Eugene sent two children and one adult to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries when an Audi driver reportedly had a medical problem and hit a pickup truck stopped in traffic—blocking eastbound Barger for emergency response. - ➤ On April 14th, Oen Evans Nicholson was found guilty except for insanity on charges for killing four people in North Bend and kidnapping a woman in Springfield—he was sentenced to spend his life at Oregon State Hospital under the supervision of the Psychiatric Security Review Board. KEZI

- ➤ Three Lane Community College students were named to the 2025 All-Oregon Academic Team—honoring academic excellence and leadership—to represent their college in Phi Theta Kappa’s national contest. Kat Tabor, PJ Knight, and Haley Jo Feigert will be celebrated at a luncheon on April 18 at Chemeketa Community College’s Eola Center in Salem. KVAL

- ➤ City officials expect nearly $23-million in cuts over the new two-year budget, and the move will reduce services like the library, animal care, community centers, and a fire station.
