- ➤ University of Oregon faculty and staff moved into Building Two at the Knight Campus for Accelerating Scientific Impact — a 185,000 sqft facility that offers labs, maker spaces and computational research areas supporting bioengineering studies, innovation and biotech startups. KLCC

- ➤ Caleb Johnson from Johnson Brothers Garden Market demonstrated at Coburg Gardens how to refresh compacted garden beds using a biodynamic soil recharger from Seacoast Compost (an Oregon product that delivers micronutrients without burning plants). Gardeners can plant immediately after mixing or spreading the product. KEZI
- ➤ LRAPA said wildfire smoke was the main factor in Lane County’s F air quality rating (Oakridge data skewed measurements from the American Lung Association). The agency noted that the county had reduced pollution from wood stoves and vehicles over 20 years. NBC 16

- ➤ Veneta city officials are reviewing a proposal for a 24/7 gas station with a convenience store and restaurant planned at the busy intersection of Territorial Hwy and Jeans Rd; residents worry about traffic and pedestrian safety, and the proposal will soon enter the permit phase. NBC 16
- ➤ Lane County families report that direct support professionals can no longer provide rides for children with developmental disabilities; one father said his daughter now faces fewer transport options as state rules allow such support only in specific scenarios (public transit and other care remain alternatives). - ➤ PeaceHealth has installed AED save-stations (automatic external defibrillators) at four sports sites in the Eugene-Springfield area. The stations at Willamalane Les Schwab Sports Complex, Hamlin Middle School, Lane Community College and Babe Ruth Sport Complex now offer public access to life-saving technology. KVAL
- ➤ The Eugene Family YMCA is accepting registration for free CPR and automated external defibrillator training classes on May 3 and May 17, each lasting 90 minutes (space is limited). The hands-on sessions help everyday individuals learn lifesaving skills without needing a membership. KEZI
