- ➤ Bike Month in Lane County is underway as local events run through May. The celebration began on April 30 at Oakshire Public House (4:00–7:00 p.m.) and will include a First Friday ArtWalk on May 2 and a finale on May 31. NBC 16
- ➤ Today, Lane County residents can support hunger relief by purchasing handcrafted bowls and soup coupons at the 32nd Empty Bowls sale hosted by Food for Lane County (FFLC). NBC 16
- ➤ 5th Street Market Alley is hosting Food for Lane County’s Empty Bowls Sale featuring hundreds of handcrafted bowls starting at $10, each with a coupon for free soup from local outlets (Provisions 5th Street and Café Yumm). The sale takes place today from 4:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. KVAL

- ➤ Meadow View in north Eugene hosted its second annual lip dub challenge on Thursday, Apr. 30, where students K-8 created a music video featuring a neon light show in the gym; the school will post the final video on its website. NBC 16
- ➤ Lane Community College is starting a three-year budget plan to restore a 10% ending fund balance by cutting 20 full-time jobs and two academic programs. Board meetings will continue in May to plan for the upcoming school year. KEZI
