- ➤ Lane County’s annual Point In Time Count shows 3,509 people were unhoused—a 14% increase from last year that includes 237 unaccompanied youth. A county spokesperson said 70% of those counted lost stable housing and blamed a shortage of affordable housing and living wage jobs for the rise. KLCC

- ➤ A Eugene man was charged with second degree manslaughter in a crash that killed 79-year-old Sharon Schuman— a former UO professor and founder of Chamber Music Amici— on April 23; Scott Shawn Stolarczyk is scheduled for arraignment on June 17. KVAL
- ➤ Eugene architect Scott Shawn Stolarczyk was charged on May 29 with second degree manslaughter after his RAV4 swerved and struck runner Sharon Schuman on April 23 along the Amazon Park running path, where she died at the scene—he said a coughing fit might have caused him to black out and later tests showed his blood alcohol level was 0.234 percent—and he will be arraigned at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday, June 17 in Lane County Circuit Court.
