- ➤ Lane County will upgrade a half-mile segment of Mount Pisgah’s Summit Trail from June 8 to July 1 — workers will remove rocks, add drainage features, and place new gravel. Access will be restricted during work as officials enhance the trail for all, including all-terrain wheelchair users. KLCC

- ➤ The Eugene Scottish Festival will offer Celtic music, dance, Highland games, and a haggis eating contest for families in the Santa Clara neighborhood this Saturday at Irving Grange. Clan representatives will be available (providing insights on tracing ancestry) to connect visitors with Scottish heritage. KEZI
ECONOMY NEWS
- ➤ Gas prices in Eugene dropped to $5.12 a gallon Monday, down 11.6 cents from last week based on a survey of 78 stations. Statewide, prices dipped 5.4 cents to $5.19 a gallon while national averages also fell+ though prices remain above last year’s levels. NBC 16

- ➤ Eugene Public Library is hosting free Summer Reading activities for all ages at its three branches from June 1 through Aug. 31. Highlights include a Teddy Bear Picnic on July 18 (at Amazon Community Center) and a visiting author talk on July 25 at the Downtown Library. KEZI
