- ➤ A residential street in Springfield was renamed to Kyiv Street to honor the local Ukrainian community. The city changed the name last month and installed a new blue and yellow street sign that reflects Ukraine's official spelling for its capital. KLCC
ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ On Friday morning, Eugene Springfield Fire crews responded to three fire incidents in Springfield— a bark dust fire on the 3200 block of Gateway Street, an electrical fire on the 1300 block of R Street, and a garage fire on the 2700 block of Manor Drive— and no one was injured. KVAL

- ➤ The Valley River Center has turned into a vintage car showroom for the annual car show, featuring shiny chrome and heavy horsepower vehicles from Friday through Father's Day—collectors and enthusiasts can speak with car owners about the timeless designs on display. KVAL
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ Crews responded on June 12 to two fires in the Kent Creek drainage southwest of Dillard near Winston—one fire was fully lined and mopped up while the Porter Creek fire was 85% mopped up. DFPA coordinated with local landowners and the Bureau of Land Management to complete the fire suppression efforts. KVAL

- ➤ Lane Transit District will add extra bus services during University of Oregon’s graduation weekend to ease traffic congestion. Routes 13 and 79x will serve Autzen Stadium and EmX will drop riders on campus — helping grads and guests avoid parking issues — with the ceremony scheduled for Monday, June 16 at 9:00 a.m. KVAL
- ➤ At Thursday night's meeting, the Eugene Police Department set new rules for flock license plate readers to fight theft, recover stolen cars, and send Amber Alerts while the city keeps control of the data with oversight by an independent auditor and a citizen review board—Chief Skinner said the cameras will not use facial recognition. Commissioners also said EPD will not use city resources to help ICE and will review plans for red light cameras as more people are expected at today's No Kings protest. NBC 16

- ➤ PeaceHealth, Everyone Village, and Volunteers in Medicine announced plans to add a 10-unit recuperation housing cluster and an on-site primary care clinic at Everyone Village to help unhoused community members. The clinic will have two exam rooms and will be operated by Volunteers in Medicine in collaboration with PeaceHealth’s care team — with a community celebration planned for Tuesday, September 16 to offer tours and support.
