- ➤ The Foley Ridge Fire forced the closure of OR 242, also known as McKenzie Highway, between milepost 55 and 76. Travelers are told to take other routes—officials have not set when the highway will open again. KVAL

- ➤ Former city councilor Betty Taylor, who served Eugene for 24 years—completing six terms—celebrated turning 100 at Downtown Athletic Club on Sept. 16, leaving longtime residents proud of her service. KVAL
- ➤ Today, Oregon senators will meet at 10 a.m. to vote on Gov. Tina Kotek’s transportation funding bill that would raise taxes to help avoid layoffs at the Department of Transportation (Sen. Chris Gorsek’s health issues caused delays). The bill will raise $4.3 billion over ten years to support local governments and public transit. KLCC
