- ➤ Springfield celebrated the graduation of four individuals from its SMART Court program on Nov. 20 at the Springfield Justice Center. - ➤ Teagan Merritt, a Thurston High School junior and wrestler, was left in critical condition when a speeding truck hit her car on Highway 126 on November 15th—her family said she faces a long recovery that may include a costly transfer to a Denver hospital. KVAL

- ➤ The City of Springfield's Historic Commission announced the 2025 Heritage Awards winners in a celebration of local history and culture. The Nativity Ukrainian Catholic Church won the History Maker Award for hosting its annual summer festival—while the Lane County Monuments Project received the Preservation Excellence Award for its work on public art. - ➤ The Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife said that the commercial Dungeness crab season is delayed until at least Dec. 16 because crabs from Long Beach, Washington did not meet the meat fill requirement—further tests may allow a full or partial opening while fishing vessels follow guidelines to keep whales safe.
