- ➤ The Giving Machines have returned to Valley River Center for a three-week holiday run and accept debit, credit, and mobile payments to support local nonprofits—like CASA—that help children in Lane, Benton, Linn, and Douglas counties, building on last year's $60K in donations and remaining available near Center Court until December 14. - ➤ On Nov. 21, the City Club of Eugene held a program about the proposed Pacific Coast Intermodal Port project that would connect container ships at Coos Bay to a rail line reaching Eugene. Local leaders explained the project details during a live broadcast on Nov. 24 at 7:00 p.m.—efforts to complete funding continue as the project aims to open by 2030. KLCC

- ➤ Congress added a rule that reclassifies hemp products—any good with more than 0.4 mg THC per container will become illegal—and these changes will take effect on November 12 next year. ECONOMY NEWS
- ➤ Gasoline prices in Eugene rose by 6.9 cents per gallon over the past week to average $3.51 from a survey of 78 stations; prices are 18.7 cents lower than last month but 23.1 cents higher than last year. Patrick De Haan of GasBuddy said further relief is expected soon—refinery maintenance will finish and oil prices have dropped below $60 per barrel, which may lead to lower gas prices in the coming weeks. - ➤ A free pilot bus route launched Monday connects rural towns to key transit hubs in Eugene by linking stops like McMinnville, Amity, Rickreall, Monmouth, Adair Village, Corvallis, Monroe, and Junction City — funded by a state grant, it offers four weekday departures and free service for six months. Benton and Yamhill Counties will review ridership data to plan any changes when the grant expires. KLCC
