All volunteer work parties will meet at the Friends Nursery.

The Friends nursery is located at the far northern end of the park. Entering the park from Seavey Loop Rd., take a LEFT after the bridge, proceed past the North Parking Lot and Trailhead, pass the "Authorized Vehicles Only" sign and continue until you see a collection of buildings, including a greenhouse. Park angled-in along the gravel strip on the west side of the road. Overflow parking is parallel along the east side of the road. For directions, Google Maps search "Friends of Buford Park Native Plant Nursery" and it will direct you there.

DO NOT GO TO THE WEST/ARBORETUM PARKING AREA.

What we'll do: Volunteer activities will vary based on the season and the needs of the nursery, but may include weeding, propagation, seed harvest, nursery bed prep and helping with our seasonal plant sales.

What to bring: Always check the forecast before a volunteer day and dress appropriately for the weather, and for the work! This usually means long sleeves, long pants, sturdy shoes and a hat. In the rainy months a waterproof jacket, rain pants or bibs and waterproof shoes are a must. In the dry season sunscreen and a wide-brimmed hat are essential.

If you have a favorite pair of work gloves or hand tool appropriate for the work that you'd like to bring, please do so. We'll have gloves and tools to borrow for anyone who doesn't.

When to arrive: Please arrive no earlier than 15 minutes before the start time and no later than 10 minutes after the start time. If you're not able to make it or are running late, please let us know ASAP so we can adjust our preparations.
