- ➤ Lane County Low-Income Household Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) received delayed federal funding for fiscal year 2026 with $1.2 million less than last year and mailed applications to seniors and disability recipients. Local agencies began accepting phone calls and online sign-ups at 9 a.m. on Jan. 5, and waitlists filled quickly. KEZI
- ➤ The Eugene Police Department partnered with Ideal Option to launch a peer support program that deploys two full time navigators to offer trauma informed outreach to vulnerable residents downtown. The one year pilot uses funds from community safety and downtown budgets to connect individuals with housing, mental health care, and substance use treatment. KEZI
