  • Shift Community Cycles is a nonprofit bike shop providing low-cost repairs and skills training to help riders stay safely mobile in Eugene. The service supports community members—including those with limited incomes and housing stability—by keeping essential transportation available for work, food, and services.  KVAL

ECONOMY NEWS

  • Today, Oregon’s first quarter revenue forecast was released by the Department of Administrative Services Office of Economic Analysis and shows a stronger economy after federal data returned following last fall’s shutdown. Economists noted higher tax receipts and a better ending balance as signs of future growth.  NBC 16

EDUCATION NEWS

  • The Bridge Lane Career and Resource Fair took place Wednesday at the Lane County Fairgrounds and connected job seekers with local employers while offering training and education opportunities.  KVAL
  • The Eugene 4J school district approved budget cuts on Wednesday night to address its $30M deficit from lost Covid-19 funds and lower enrollment, merging Family School with Camas Ridge Community School — a change that adjusts the bell schedule and cuts 110 staff, with measures taking effect in July.  NBC 16
