  • A new monument dedicated to the families displaced during the Ferry Street Bridge project — an effort to rebuild Eugene’s Black history — will be unveiled in September at Alton Baker Park as community leaders work to piece together local records.  KVAL

  • The 88th Annual Oregon Logging Conference in Eugene is focused on youth involvement and responsible forestry as over 900 high school students attend career day events at Lane Events Center. The conference concludes Saturday with activities that showcase forestry career paths.  KEZI

  • Fishermen and environmentalists met Friday night in Springfield as the Oregon Fish and Wildlife Commission denied a petition for stricter whale protections during crabbing season aimed at avoiding costly gear changes.
