COMMUNITY NEWS

  • The Willamette Valley Temple in Springfield will host a public open house from April 23 to May 9 with tours available 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Saturday—inviting local visitors to see its unique design and bike-friendly features.  KEZI

EDUCATION NEWS

  • On March 3, UO received a $20 million U.S. Department of Education grant to expand its transition services for students with disabilities. The funding will support partnerships with five universities to boost state and local agency efforts helping high school graduates move into work and independent living.  KVAL

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Drivers using Rice Creek Road should plan for a full closure starting March 6 as the Bureau of Land Management replaces a deteriorating culvert. Motorists are advised to seek alternate routes during the project.  NBC 16

HEALTH NEWS

  • PeaceHealth Oregon ended its contract with Eugene Emergency Physicians for emergency redesign at its Lane County hospitals and switched to ApolloMD for support. Some providers oppose the move & the matter will be reviewed by the Senate Committee on Veterans, Emergency Management, Federal and World Affairs on Thursday, March 5.  KVAL
