CRIME NEWS

  • The Lane County Sheriff’s Office is searching for 63-year-old Jonathan Allen House of Eugene after he was last seen in the 25600 block of Hall Road west of Cheshire on March 15—deputies recovered a vehicle linked to him and ask anyone with information to call (541) 682-4141.  KVAL

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • Conservation groups filed a lawsuit against EWEB for allegedly breaking the Endangered Species Act by not providing proper fish passage near a dam on the McKenzie River—which harmed Chinook salmon and bull trout. EWEB said it invested over $18 million to improve fish passage but delayed permanent work to address urgent dam safety issues.  NBC 16

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • City of Eugene is inviting public comment on three affordable housing proposals and one funding request for AHTF as details are posted on the AHTF website. Comments can be emailed or given in person during meetings on April 17 and April 23 at the Saul Conference Room at 99 W. 10th Ave—the full committee will meet on May 8 to hear input before a final funding decision in June.  City of Eugene
