Good morning, Eugene.

On March 22, the Eugene Parks Volunteer Program and Eugene Metro Rotary hosted their spring cleanup at Amazon Creek, logging 440 volunteer hours and removing 34 cubic yards of trash—continuing a stewardship effort since 2011.

Gas prices in Eugene increased 3.6 cents in the past week and averaged $3.59 on Monday according to GasBuddy’s survey of 78 stations — they are 47.9 cents lower than a year ago and 1.2 cents lower than last month.

City officials verified over 8,000 signatures for a petition that will put a proposed fire fee on the November 4 ballot.

The fee would charge $10 per month for homeowners and $34 per month for business owners to cover an $11.5 million shortfall for Eugene Springfield Fire.
