  • On March 22, the Eugene Parks Volunteer Program and Eugene Metro Rotary hosted their spring cleanup at Amazon Creek, logging 440 volunteer hours and removing 34 cubic yards of trash—continuing a stewardship effort since 2011.  KVAL

ECONOMY NEWS

  • Gas prices in Eugene increased 3.6 cents in the past week and averaged $3.59 on Monday according to GasBuddy’s survey of 78 stations — they are 47.9 cents lower than a year ago and 1.2 cents lower than last month.  NBC 16

  • City officials verified over 8,000 signatures for a petition that will put a proposed fire fee on the November 4 ballot. The fee would charge $10 per month for homeowners and $34 per month for business owners to cover an $11.5 million shortfall for Eugene Springfield Fire.  KVAL
