- ➤ The Eugene-Springfield NAACP announced its headquarters will move to the Clear Lake Community Center in Bethel with operations set to begin on July 1, while staff began remote work on March 28. CRIME NEWS
- ➤ A break-in caught on camera hit two west Eugene Eugreen Farms locations early Thursday when a white truck rammed warehouse doors and a suspect entered to steal nearly $60K in products and cause $20K in damage — police are investigating four suspects and have recovered the stolen vehicle in Springfield. - ➤ A 34-year-old Eugene man named Travis John Krebs was arrested early on March 26 for assault and kidnapping after deputies responded to calls about a dispute at a Stark Street home where he climbed a roof and reportedly barricaded residents before a crisis negotiator persuaded him to come down — he now remains in custody. KEZI
- ➤ On March 27th, deputies responded to a dispute at a residence on Territorial Road in Eugene and chased 30-year-old Joseph Spencer Gale-Smith after he threatened a resident with a taser and fled in a silver 2003 Honda CRV—using a PIT maneuver to force his vehicle off Highway 99 and arrest him after officers found methamphetamine in his possession. - ➤ Gas prices rose after the switch to summer-blend fuel drove up costs — AAA reported regular fuel at $3.14 a gallon nationally while the local average reached $3.75 a gallon on March 27th. KLCC
