- ➤ Greenhill Humane Society will host the 32nd Bark in the Park this Sunday, May 18, at Alton Baker Park with activities starting at 7 a.m. The event will feature a 2K, 5K and 10K run, dog contests and registration fees (adults $35, seniors $25, kids under 12 free) while aiming to raise $100K for animal care. ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ On May 11, a fire spread along the 3100 block of Coraly Avenue in Eugene and destroyed two homes while severely damaging a third—50 Eugene-Springfield Fire personnel arrived in less than 5 minutes and one person was hospitalized with life-threatening injuries. KEZI
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Eugene Public Works and the police reported that dangerous intersections will soon get upgrades to reduce the 289 pedestrian crashes so far this year. The city will start major work at Walnut and Franklin in 2027—adding roundabouts and lower speed limits—and will apply smaller fixes at other intersections. KVAL
REAL ESTATE NEWS
- ➤ Applications will open at 8 a.m. Thursday, May 15 at Lazy Days Mobile Home and RV park for Holiday Farm Fire survivors—there are 13 2-bedroom modular homes available with own or rent-to-own options. Those who lived at the original Lazy Days in September 2020 or lost their home in the fire may be eligible if their income is no more than 80% of area median income—Homes for Good rebuilt the park.
