  • Yesterday, the City Club of Eugene hosted a forum titled The Library in Community where Library Director Angela Ocaña & Dana Fleming discussed new programs and future plans for EPL, with the event broadcast live at 7:00 p.m. on KLCC 89.7 FM.  KLCC
  • More than 1,000 people gathered at Alton Baker Park on Sunday for the 33rd annual Bark in the Park Run and Walk for the Animals featuring a Fast Furless 5K and dog activities. Organizers aimed to raise $100,000 to support care for 5,500 animals — a goal reflecting local support.  KEZI
  • White Bird Clinic reached a settlement with Willamette Valley Crisis Care after suing the nonprofit over copyright and trade secret claims, and both nonprofits clarified that each operates independently — with White Bird continuing CAHOOTS services in Springfield.  KLCC

  • Hult Center for the Performing Arts will host the Hult High School Musical Theatre Awards at 7 p.m. on June 2 in Silva Concert Hall to honor statewide musical theater talent + nominees from 18 schools will represent Oregon at the Jimmy Awards in New York on June 22.  KEZI
  • Eugene Vintage Fest returned to the Farmers Market Pavilion for its fifth year, featuring 65 vendors offering vintage clothes, media, and home goods along with free repairs at the Fix-It Fair and live music with a zero waste focus.   • Gas prices in Eugene fell by 4 cents per gallon in the past week to $5.25 today, though they remain 30 cents above last month & $1.41 higher than last year based on a survey of 78 stations.  KVAL

EDUCATION NEWS

  • The University of Oregon faces a $65M budget gap for 2026 due to a drop in out-of-state enrollment. Layoffs occurred in 2025 and officials say no final decisions have been made on further cuts as the school adjusts its tuition-reliant budget.  KEZI

  • The National Alliance on Mental Illness hosted its 8th annual mental health walk at Island Park in Springfield, featuring a non-competitive 5K, live entertainment & family activities to raise funds for free mental health programs in Lane County.  KEZI

  • On Sunday, the University of Oregon swept the Big Ten Outdoor Track & Field Championships by winning both men's and women's titles, with teams earning multiple individual victories in events like the 10,000m and triple jump.
