CRIME NEWS

  • A Eugene Police detective arrested 41-year-old Travis Lee Riley on August 4 after a license plate reader hit led to a traffic stop on W. 7th Avenue that connected him with a burglary in the first degree (officers also found him with methamphetamine and pills, and he was awaiting sentencing for previous property crimes and a weapon offense) and he is now held at Lane County Jail.  KVAL
  • Eugene Police arrested 55-year-old Anthony Wayne Reed on charges of kidnapping, strangulation, and disorderly conduct after on August 5 bystanders reported a fight at Skinner Butte Park — officers said Reed picked up a 19-month-old child and briefly strangled a man who tried to intervene.  KVAL
