🏛️ Government
City officials verified enough signatures for the Clean Energy Fund initiative, which qualified for the November ballot — if approved, it will add a 2% license fee on large multinational retailers to generate at least $15 million annually for local climate and public projects.
ODFW Commission revised rules to reduce whale entanglements in Oregon’s Dungeness crab fishery.
The new rules include electronic vessel monitoring starting in Feb. 2027 and guidelines for testing alternative gear in spring 2027.
