Good morning, Eugene.
🏘️ Community
More than 100 zombies took over Alton Baker Park on Sunday for ShelterCare's Run for Your Life 5K, raising funds for local housing and mental health services (in partnership with Thrill the World Eugene).
The fundraiser featured a Halloween-themed course to spur community support.
🌲 Environment
On Oct. 1, the new rain year began with scarce rain in Portland — leaving nearly 90% of Oregon in drought and 20% in extreme drought.
Officials note that dry conditions may raise fire risk and lower river flows for 2.4 million residents.
